Investments Made in West Tennessee

 

In 2012, Millington Telephone, Cable and Phone was purchased by Ritter Communications. Since the acquisition, we have been working diligently to provide added value to your services and to do right by you! As with any high-reaching goal, it’s likely to face obstacles along the way. But we’re committed to serving you, always seeking to improve your experience and to provide excellent customer service. Below are some of the milestones completed since 2012.

 

Ritter Invests $2.5M in the West Tennessee Network to Improve Service and Reduce Outages

  • Greater Maximum Capacity - In 2012, the Millington Cable and Telephone network offered a maximum capacity of 2GB of Internet to serve all west Tennessee customers. Because of our investments, today our network accommodates peak usage at 9 GB. That’s 4.5x more Internet today than what was available in 2012!
  • Higher Internet Usage - Usage is 23% higher in West Tennessee communities than in all of the other Ritter service areas. Demand for Internet outpaced our original estimates so we’re constantly making investments to increase capacity and exceed the needs of our customers.
  • Faster Internet Speed - One specific capacity we’re actively investing time, money and resources to acquire is faster Internet speeds for both DSL and Cable Internet residential customers. This is a priority for us to continue to work on the coming 2016 calendar year.

 

Ritter Invests in New Products and Services for West Tennessee Customers

  • New Digital Cable TV System - In the past year, our Cable TV customers have gone all digital! That means we took analog Cable TV customers and switched them to digital Cable TV so residential customers could have better picture and sounds quality for their programming. This also frees up space on the cable network, which in turn helped free up capacity to offer faster Internet service to customers.
  • Larger Maximum Internet Speed - The maximum speed of our Cable Internet customers has increased to 100 Mbps, and we are continuing to upgrade this network to keep up with the ever growing demand for Internet services.
  • Two New Products Launched - Two new product categories were launched in the past year including data protection provided by Tech Home and device protection from GUARDware. Both of these provide extra protection for what matters most to you – staying connected! Tech Home offers 3 apps that you can download on your devices which can do everything from sending you a pop up alert if an app you’re about to download is asking for suspicious access such as the front facing camera on a child’s game to have the ability to lock or wipe your phone from important data should your device get stolen. It can also provide extra data storage up to 50 GB, save important information such as medical cards, passwords and log ins, create a password keeper so you never have to remember all your log ins when accessing various forms throughout the Internet and much more! GUARDware allows you to have peace of mind knowing your electronic devices such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, TVs, gaming system consoles will be repaired or replaced in case of accidental damage including drops, spills and cracks or mechanical/electronical breakdown occurs not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
  • New Channel - Tubetown, our local content channel – channel 11, launched this past year. This means we have a videography team dedicated to providing local content that matters to you such as LIVE high-school football coverage, festivals such as the Millington Goat Days and Celebrate Munford events, and other original programming.

 

Ritter Responds to Feedback about Our Customer Service

  • New Consolidated Bills - Telephone and Cable TV residential customer bills have been consolidated to make for a more pleasant and efficient experience for our customers.
  • New Bill AutoPay - AutoPay was introduced to residential customers to help free up the obligation to write monthly checks.
  • Hiring Local - We’re in the process of adding more local customer service representatives in our Millington office locations to ensure we can handle customer calls and walk-in visits promptly.
  • New Phone Menu - An automated menu has been established when customers call us to ensure they get assigned to the correct department as quickly as possible so we can address customers’ needs.
  • New Customer Advisory Board - A Customer Advisory Board comprised of West Tennessee customers was established and we meet with them quarterly to gain input and feedback to better the customer experience.
  • Consistent Communication - We regularly provide materials to customers via bill messages, website publishes and social media channels to help educate customers about Cable TV rate changes, new taxes and government fees, service outages, Internet speed issues and other topics that could be helpful for customer communication.

 

Ritter Invests in Your Area

  • Donated Resources - Since 2012, we’ve donated over $90,000 to nearly 50 local groups including civic organizations, schools, non-profit organizations and more.
  • Fall Festivals - Attending important community events such as Millington Goat Days, Celebrate Munford and others has been a priority for us to keep so we can be involved in the community. That’s why we’ve been to these events since 2012 and continue to do so in the future.
  • Santa Connection - Building on the tradition established by Mr. Howard, we’ve consciously made the decision to keep Santa Connection a priority. Each December we invite jolly Saint Nick to visit the Millington office.
  • Jude Cablethon - Each year, we provide funding, resources, air time and more to help the production of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Radio and Cablethon. This even is normally heald in late winter/early spring.
